Absolutely incredible, I haven't seen a photograph like this for a long time! Such an inspiration! The angling is perfect; although her hand is hiding her face, we can see everything we need to so clearly. The picture itself also tells us everything, but at the same time we are allowed to guess and make our own assumptions. The quality is perfect - we can see every wrinkle in her face (though that's not a bad thing!) and nearly every stitch in her clothing. The colours are neutral, which gives this piece an earthy and human touch, and the top half of the photo is quite light, giving this picture an airy and almost optimistic view. As was mentioned in the last critique and has been mentioned in some comments, it's difficult to decide whether the woman is in utter distress or absolute joy, but whichever emotion she is feeling, you have captured it beautifully yet also allowed us to make up our own minds. So brilliant, a massive well done to you!
Without any words, this piece really speaks! I'm at loss of words at explaining how I'm touched with this artwork! I love every bit of it.. The technique is amazing, I love how the artist gave the picture a dusty feeling by making it HDR-- I think that's what they call it-- which makes her veins and wrinkles stand out. I love the whole setting of the photo, her covering her face like a pose of remorse, or laughter, her tattered clothing, and her wedding ring. Although, I' m not really sure if she's laughing which conveys a message that she can still smile and she's happy even in this state, or, of she's in remorse which conveys a totally different message.
Overall, This is a truly amazing piece, congratulations!
You have a wide range of interest from young to old, funny to serious and everything in between. This is one of my favorites because it is so expressive! Because you darkened the picture and zoomed in on her face, I thought for sure she was in destress, but after viewing your gallery, I know she is amused at whatever the man next to her was saying. That was a great picture, too! Excellent work! [link]
