The placement of the fish and the "bones" of the fish on the plate across to the corners is wonderful. It really draws your eye in to the middle of the piece.
From the thumbnail, I thought it might just be the actual bones of a fish (given, I don't really know exactly what they look like), but I love that it forced me to think for a couple seconds to register what this was.
I really love the placement, as I said, and I love the concept. Very original!
The only half-point I took off from this critique was from the "technique" category, because I feel the lighting left a little bit to be desired. I want the shadows below the bottom of the plate to be over the whole entire width of the frame, not just the right side. I feel like it would've made a greater impact if the bottom of the frame had been dark and the top light (as the top is), kind of to create that yin-and-yang effect with the plate... You know, as the plate is reflecting more light on the bottom (so it would contrast with the darker background shadows), and it's darker on the top (contrasting with the lighter background/lack of shadows in the top).
That said, I couldn't think of anything that could've been done better with this photograph. Wonderful work. I love it.
